What is an Antepartum Doula? A woman fully trained to assist momma and their
families facing high-risk pregnancies, providing informational, physical, practical and
emotional support.
Services
Informational Support ~
- Provide information and resources, such as bed rest support groups and
referrals to birthing professionals.
Physical Support ~
- Relaxation techniques: (visual imagery and guided meditation).
- Help with body movements/bed rest exercises.
Practical Support ~
- Help to create a command center either in hospital or at home.
Emotional Support ~
- Emotional help with transition of being on bed rest for momma and family.
Who Needs an Antepartum Doula? Single or married women on bed-rest, who are
considered High-risk or are just having a difficult pregnancy. Teenage mother's can
benefit from the support and encouragement during the difficult emotional challenges.

Pampered Momma is a doula service offering antepartum and postpartum care.
Antepartum care - offers you support during your pregnancy; with educational and
physical support for the high risk bed rest mommas.
Postpartum care - offers you support in the first 2-3 months after baby's birth. We offer
educational and physical support during momma's recovery and bonding with baby.
Many couples find themselves alone and unsure of their new roles as parents. The
challenges for new parents are numerous and doulas are trained to provide education,
non-judgmental support, and companionship; and to assist with newborn care and
family adjustment. Doulas play a vital role today...nurturing the family bond.

Postpartum Support
What is a postpartum doula? The role of a postpartum doula is to help a woman
through her postpartum period and to nurture the family in their new roles. Services
are tailored to meet each momma and families unique needs.
Services
- Provide hands-on education on infant and mother care.
- Create a nurturing, restful atmosphere in which parents may eat, shower and
nap.
- Shop for groceries, run errands, prepare meals.
- Play with older children and offer suggestions for how to integrate the new
baby into the family.
- Spend time with the baby, allowing parents to cuddle and have quality time
with older children or just be alone together.
- Introduce parenting tips, helping parents to learn skills that will enable them to
cope with their new responsibilities.
- Organize the nursery and home.
- Take care of the baby’s laundry.
- Help parents to gather the skills and resources that they might need in the
upcoming weeks and months.
- Referrals to any local or informational resources.
My first priority is to insure that the new momma is rested and relaxed, and to assist
her with breastfeeding and/or nurturing her baby. With experience and love we help
the new family, and try to make that transition easier for both momma and family.
